Carmelita has lived alone for a long time, but she’s been surrounded by music. Her best friend is Luciana, who she takes care of, and loves like a sister. They are both united by songs, even when they have walked different paths to get to that point; while Luciana sings to remember, Carmelita sings to forget. Having endured 30 years in a psychiatric, Carmelita sang whenever the treatments made her too violent or overwhelmingly sad. In those moments she turned to traditional mexican singers, such as Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete, and got lost in their lyrics and melodies. Nowadays, Carmelita joyfully sings with Luciana, finishing her forgotten verses and celebrating the treasure of finding someone to make her feel useful once again and bring a meaning to her life.
